Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi All,

Just to let you know I am embarking on my very own “Road to London 2012”, I am due to compete in the Virgin London Marathon on April 22. No stranger to long distance road running I will be hoping to complete my 10 full marathon in London in April. I thought that as this was going to be my 10 Marathon it would be fitting to complete it on one of the World’s most famous courses while also raising money for a very worthy cause.

I will be running in London for Bone Cancer Research Trust Ireland (BCRT), the reason I chose this charity is in memory of my daughter’s friend Bláthnaid Foley who died from a rare form of primary bone cancer called Ewing’s sarcoma in 2006 at the tender young age of 13. This cruel disease mainly affects those aged 10 – 20 years old.

I am currently pounding the roads of Sligo training for the marathon and will soon be commencing my fund raising drive and BCRT would really appreciate any contributions people could make, I also have sponsorship cards and anyone who could assist by raising funds for the charity their help would be greatly appreciated. I fully understand that this is a very difficult time for everyone but hope that people will help me raise funds for a charity which is devoted to improving the outcome for those affected by Primary Bone Cancer.
