A team of 8 of us are taking on this sponsored challenge to raise vital funds for research into MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome. 

 

Sadly, my great nephew Blake was diagnosed with this at 3 weeks old. It is a cruel and debilitating syndrome which means he will probably never walk or talk, have severe, uncontrolled epilepsy and suffer from recurrent chest infections which can be fatal. This is just a brief summary and he will undoubtedly have a whole host of other problems. 

 

However, there is HOPE! Scientists are very positive that a cure or at least, treatments can be found within the next decade. These studies require a huge amount of funds and we are desperate to get them funded as soon as possible to give Blake the chance of a happier, healthier future. There is no government funding into this condition, so the onus is on family and friends to raise the money. 

 

I urge you all to spare a few £'s to help wee Blake and all the others who suffer from this awful condition.
