Story
We never expect to lose our parents, we want them to live forever and I certainly didn't expect to lose my Dad. He was only 64 years old, had a healthy balanced diet and exercised regularly. He was planning his future retirement as well as renewing his wedding vows to my Mum.
After battling a long illness, my Dad passed away on 1st July 2011.
We had been trying desperately to get a diagnosis after he lost significant weight, had new onset type 2 diabetes, pain in his upper abdomen & back and kept vomiting. It was only after he passed that it was confirmed as pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer death in the UK yet it receives only one per cent of overall research funding.
This page has been set up in memory of my Dad, to celebrate the beautiful life that he had and also help others continue to enjoy the life they have...
This day is remembered and quietly kept,
No words are needed, we shall never forget,
For those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen and unheard, but always near,
So loved, so missed, and so very dear.
Sweet dreams Dad
