Thank you for taking the time to visit this page in memory of Eric Duffield.

We would be grateful if you choose to donate to the Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge instead of buying flowers. On the morning of Eric's death he was scheduled to be moved from St Peter's Hospital into the Sam Beare Hospice, however unfortunately he became too unwell to be moved in the end. Nonetheless, the staff at the Sam Beare had been incredibly supportive to both Eric and Ruth for many months during his illness, and we can think of no more worthy a recipient of any token that you may care to offer.

Any support that you can offer would be especially welcome given the current dire financial circumstances in which this wonderful service finds itself. As a charity, the hospice gets no funding from the NHS and in the past few weeks they have had to partially suspend day care services and are currently running an emergency appeal to raise £300,000 by the end of the year and another £300,000 by April just to maintain their normal services.
