Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!

This summer I will be attempting to complete the National 3 Peaks Challenge, climbing the 3 tallest mountains in the UK in under 24 hours. They are Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon; 3 worthy opponents.

Despite being the proud owner of a cherished Bronze Duke of Edinburgh certificate, I have a feeling this is going to be a bit of a challenge. It might be a walk in the dark but somehow I don't think it's going to be a walk in the park!

So why am I doing it?

I've always been interested in trying the 3 Peaks and really want to set myself the challenge of trying to complete them.

But more importantly I will be climbing in support of a valuable local charity; the Yorkshire Cancer Centre. This charity is part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation and fundraises for specialist medical equipment, research and development and patient ‘home comforts’. It aims to supplement NHS budgets to provide for 'extras' which can give patients the best care and improved cancer outcomes.

I have to raise a minimum of £300 for the charity in order to take part in the walk, so please do support if you can, it really is a great cause!
