This charity trains dogs to support people with a variety of disabilities. Specifically I am supporting their work with Seizure Alert dogs, which are trained to give up to 45 minutes warning of a seizure to people who suffer from epilepsy. No-one knows how the dogs do it, they only know that it works!

My nephew Andy has suffered from epilepsy since he was 6 years old and despite taking loads of drugs it has never been controlled. He always lives in the knowledge that he could have a seizure at any time without warning; possibly with disastrous consequences, and especially so since his beautiful daughter was born. This summer Andy undertook training with Major a beautiful black labrador.

Support Dogs is a charity which receives no government funding and relies entirely on voluntary donations. Please give generously so that others like Andy have the chance to benefit from their fantastic work.

How your donation is used: £25.00 buys leads, collars and ID discs. £50.00 buys a dog jacket and specialized harness. £100.00 covers the cost of spaying/neutering a dog. £500.00 covers the cost of client/dog assessment. £1500.00 covers the cost of resue and socialisation of a dog. £10,000.00 covers the cost of preliminary and advanced training. £12,000.00 covers total costs of training the dog and client.

You can follow my walk on

http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-blog/esmeann/1/tpod.html
