The Essex Police Marathon Team has been represented in every London Marathon since the event began.

I am currently fortunate enough to oversee the team, which consists of a dozen or so Essex Cops, PCSO’s and Police Staff, who run the London Marathon in order to raise funds for various charities.  In 2009 we raised £10,000 for a local Intensive Care Unit.

The team is currently training for the 2011 London Marathon and will be raising funds for the Broomfield Hospital Intensive Care Unit near Chelmsford, who are seeking to buy some ‘intensive care cots' which keep Special Care babies alive until they are well enough to go home.

What a fantastic reason to raise money.
