We did it!! Brian, Echo and I spent the first Sunday in September conquering the Watkins Path of Snowdon and as a result have managed to raise a fantastic amount to go towards the Williams Syndrome Foundation. Maggie and Frank, Brian's parents, joined us at the top having taken the motorised route on the train... Just to make sure we really got there!!
A huge thank you to everyone that donated towards our charity climb and it was definitely a challenge, well at least walking up and down the stairs at home for the few days afterwards was! I know how much this means to the WSF and the good that it will do for sufferers and their families. Rachel would have thought it brilliant that we made it all the way, but most of all she would have loved the fact that Echo had such a good day.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, Brian and I married recently and in doing so I gained a sister-in-law, Rachel. Rachel suffered from a genetic condition known as Williams Syndrome, but despite this was an outgoing and fun-loving girl. Rachel also suffered from epilepsy and very sadly passed away earlier this year as a result of a seizure. As a couple we felt that we would like to do something challenging to commemorate her. This is why we are going to climb Snowdon in September, accompanied as always by our faithful hound Echo!
The funds we raise will go towards the Williams Syndrome Foundation. This charity helps provide support and information to individuals with WS and their families, and were incredibly helpful to Rachel and her family. They are also active in supporting research to obtain further information about the condition to help future affected individuals. Any amount, no matter how much, will give the charity the funds to help others in the future so please give generously.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Echo has recently been working hard at the Junior Nationals Gliding Competition held at Aston Down Gliding Club. I have attached a picture of him collecting funds for the cause last week.
