Story

UPDATE.....

I finished the London Marathon and hit my fundraising target!!

What an amazing day. The weather, atmosphere, crowds, cheering, strangers shouting my name, dancing, music and the running wasn't bad either. My time? 3 hours 59 minutes and 30 seconds - very pleased.

Checkout the photos!

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND GENEROUS DONATIONS.

Well... a drunken challenge and family support has got me here... as a 'nearly' 40 year old, with 2 small children and a long suffering wife how else was I going to get some time to myself?

Run a marathon...

I have however embraced the challenge, thrown myself into the training and am determined to do my very best for my chosen charity.

I am now registered for the Marathon, London, 2012.. no not the Olympics but the Virgin London Marathon. So it is time for us all to make a big, big difference...

I promise to put myself through 26 miles + if you will consider giving generously to the Scientific Exploration Society on my behalf who aim to provide sensible, sustainable help which addresses specifically identified needs within extremely remote communities around the world.

They provide sustainable support for these communities in a broad range of areas from education and community aid to such basic human rights of water and shelter. The money raised this year will be spent on projects in Ecuador, Bolivia and Iraq as well as The SES Bursary. The aim of the bursary is to encourage and support young explorers plan educational, scientific and humantiarian projects.

Please give generously - it takes a lot less time, is less tiring and painful than what I am putting myself through!!!

Thank you in advance for all your support and encouragement.
