Story
On 4th August 2013 I will be taking part in RideLondon, a 100mile bike route made famous by the road cyclists of the London 2012 Olympics.
Dubbed the 'London marathon on wheels' this will be, without a doubt, the toughest challenge I have undertaken in my 23 years and I will need all the support I can get!
My chosen charity is Claire House, a local Wirral hospice for little ones and young adults up to the age of 23. The hospice provides end of life care and respite for children with life limiting conditions, in addition to this their specialist nurses work with these families out in the community. Having worked and volunteered at hospices in Birmingham during my nursing training I was given an insight into just how special these places are, and the positive impact that their work has for not only the patient, but for their family and friends too.
Knowing that a loved one's time is limited is heartbreaking, and unthinkable if that loved one is a child. However, in their own words, Claire House is about 'laughter, positivity and care' helping create lasting, happy memories for whatever time children in their care have left.
I would be so grateful for any donation, Claire House costs £6,500 a day to run, so please, no donation is too small.
Thank you so much for visiting my page,
