Story

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome to the JustGiving page of all the fine ladies of Eswyn Road, Tooting. On March 18 this year we will, in various forms, be running the Resolution 5, 10 and 15k race in Clapham Common, in aid of The Stroke Association. Our reasons for doing so are many and varied. Read on...

Sally Evans
Sally is our seasoned pro, having heroically run a half marathon in September last year, also for The Stroke Association, and in memory of her grandfather. She will be running the full 15k, like a trooper, and this time round probably won’t rely on the training app that compares her progress to the equivalent number of avocados she’s burnt off. She periodically tweets about her training here.

Becky Brynolf
Becky is our enthusiastic rookie, having never run in any context other than for the bus or to a takeaway. She’ll be running the 10k in memory of this fantastic lady who passed away two years ago. Becky is currently ‘training’ on Tooting Common, which mostly involves flailing from one end to the other. She’s video blogging her experience here in the lead up to the run, which will probably feature forced cameos from the other Eswyn ladies at some point.

Rachel England
Rachel has literally no idea how she’s been roped in to this and finds the prospect of running any distance at all terrifying. She smokes too much and as such her tiny acorn lungs will make her training an interesting experience. She has joined the gym though, and has yet to complete a single kilometre without swearing at the gym staff. She will be running the meagre 5k because THAT’S FAR ENOUGH, ALRIGHT? Read more on her hatred of running here.

Jess Banks
Jess is our fourth team member and has been drafted in from afar as she is currently working away from the good household Eswyn. As such we can’t be sure she’s actually game or whether she’s hiding behind the safe barrier of a Facebook ‘like’. More on this story as it develops.

Please donate whatever you can, even if it’s just a pound. This will be a real challenge for all of the Eswyn ladies (some more than others) and your support will really help to get them across the finish line.

Thank you xxxx
