In the UK someone dies from Mesothelioma every 5 hours. 

The morning of 6th November 2012, that was my mum, at the age of 62, 5 months after diagnosis. 

Mesothelioma is a relatively rare form of cancer that affects the membrane surrounding the lungs. Early diagnosis is difficult and mesothelioma has so far resisted most forms of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, hence prognosis is poor.

The big thing about Mesothelioma is it preventable. The only known cause of the disease is exposure to Asbestos.

The June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund is the UKs first and largest independent mesothelioma charity. They have raised over 1.5Million, most of which is being spend on research into the diagnosis and treatment of mesothelioma and care of people with the disease.
