On the 3rd September last year (2010) i asked Duane if he wanted his birthday present and he said yes please. When I gave him the positive pregnancy test he was overwhelmed , we were both so happy every thing we had hope and dreamed for. It was the best present he ever had.
On the 25th January 2011 at 1:27am , we were blessed with the very early and unexpected arrival of our little angel
Eva Elaine Stevens
Although we did not know the sex of our baby we had only decided on a girls name ; which was lucky for us.
Eva was so tiny she only weighed 1lb 10oz, but she was such a brave strong little girl. Every day she fought so hard , the nurses used to argue at who was looking after her , because she was so tiny and beautiful. Even though she was so small she had a massive personality, she knew what she did and didnt like. The nurses nicknamed her " a little drama Queen" because every time they moved or changed her she would pull a face and put her arm over her head.
She was just to beautiful and precious for this world and the angels needed to take her away.
There are no real answers to why she arrived so early Duane said its because shes impatient like her mommy. Or why she was taken away from us so soon. But we just want to thank God for blessing us with such a special gift and for giving us ten precious days with our little angel Eva and being able to cherish all the special memories of her that we will hold close in our hearts forever memories like ,
knowing what its like to feel her squeezing our hands tight, seeing her little eyes move when we spoke to her or called her name , holding her close to us and cuddling her bathing and feeding her.
In the short time Eva was here she was given more love than some people are shown in a life time and she touched the hearts of so many people.
She has taught us to us love and be kind to one another , enjoy and live life and to never take any thing for granted.
The meaning of Eva is life and Living - even though her life was so short lived she will be living in the hearts of so many people always and forever.
Eva was " our Tiny Flower lent not given , to bud on Earth and bloom in heaven."

Shocked,
Unprepared,
That was a bit of an understatement.
We didn't know whether to be happy,
Or to be sad,
So we laughted,
And we cried.
She was so tiny,
So fragile,
So beautiful,
So sick,
But so strong.
Stronger than her mommy and daddy.
Actions definitely spoke louder than words,
Actions were all she had,
And all we wanted,
Actions of hope,
Hope for Eva.
She was a little fighter,
And Fiesty,
And brave.
If you placed her on her side,.
She would roll onto her back,
If you placed her on her back,
She would roll onto her side,
And if her feet were tucked under the blanket,
She would kick the blanket off.
She knew exactly what she wanted.
We spent every moment,
Of every day,
By her bed side.
Talking to her,
Holding her hand,
Tickling her feet,
Changing her nappy,
And feeding her milk.
Felling so helpless,
But still full of hope.
The doctors gave her medicine,
Which was supposed to make her sleep.
But like her daddy guardsman,
She waved and kicked her feet.
We got to hold you in our hand,
Feel your small heart beat.
See both of your big blue eyes,
And hear your little voice bleat.
She died in our ares,
so sad but so true.
Taken by gods angels,
Upto heaven they all flew.
Our beautiful princess,
Our little angel,
You touched our hearts forever.
