Fundraising for Mind
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For the last 8 years I have been a childrens' nurse working in the community, most recently I've been working with the most vulnerable children and young people of Coventry. The difficulties these children face is unimaginable and heartbreaking but, the amazing work that Mind does gives these young people hope, a reason to live and a future.
Mental health services in the U.K. continues to be one of the most under resourced services despite the need increasing year on year. Long waiting lists within the NHS is unacceptable, communities rely upon Mind services to support their loved ones.
I have been battling a chronic condition for nearly year, I still have a long way to go and there have been many times when I didn't think I had the strength to continue the fight. Without amazing friends, family and mental health services I'm not sure I would have got out of bed each day.
Walking every day in January is going to be so hard for me but I am determined to do it for this fantastic charity, for my own well being and to to raise awareness of mental health problems.
I won't be doing it alone, I have two fabulous friends Debbie and Tahira who I am sure will drag me out of the days I'm not feeling up to it!
