Welcome to the Skiba Pastorate Soweto/Botswana GAT fund raising page!!!
At the end of August 2009 eight of us will be making the trip to Soweto in South Africa and to Botswana where we will engage in a combination of Alpha training activities and social transformation projects, including prison and orphanage visits.
GAT
Alpha is a life changing course operated now in 35 countries and Global Alpha Training (GAT) is the means by which delegates are trained to run their own Alpha Courses in their own cities and towns in their own languages.. It is anticipated that this year teams from all over the world will travel to run 250 training events in over 35 countries training up 7,500 delegates to run 2,400 courses.
Social Transformation
Along with our training commitments we will be supporting two local social transformation projects, so your generous giving will help us support HIV children living in an orphanage in Soweto and the work of those helping to support prisoners in Botswana and help prevent re-offending.
Fundraising Activities
Due to the summer holidays our potential attendees have asked if we can postpone till Septmeber....
The date is CONFIRMED to be Friday September 25th
Please block out your diary and arrange your baby sitter. Please RSVP as we have already started taking bookings and we are limited to just 80 guests!
The main event is an evening of food (with something of an African theme) wine, music, fun and charIty auction.
The venue is HTB Church House (Brompton Road London SW7).
The date is Friday 25th Sept 2009 and it starts at 7pm and finishes at 9.30pm
The capacity of the event is about 100 on a first come first served basis, so do let us know if you want to attend!
The suggested donation for attendees is £25 which you can donate via this page.

As constraints have meant this event is after our work in Africa we will be making a presentation on the compassion and social transformation work we did as well as the GAT so do come and see how YOUR generosity made good things possible.

Not to worry, you can be there virtually! Donate today and email us to go on our list of virtual attendees all of whom will get toasted and applauded on the night!
Other Actvities
The smart cookies among you will have noticed there is hardly any time before we leave for the bush!
We will almost certainly travel before all funds have been raised and we hope that you will continue to support our endeavours while we are away. Give as generously as you can, any surplus will be donated to social transformation projects in Soweto and Botswana
