Story
I was still high on endorphins and full of satisfaction at putting in a respectable time in the EMF half marathon when I clicked the button and committed myself to the Scotland Coast to Coast 2012 event. This is the same event as I completed in September last year but this time I’m entered into the Racer category which means that I need to complete the whole course in one day.
This involves:
§ a 7 mile run followed by
§ a 48 mile road cycle followed by
§ a 2 mile kayak followed by
§ a 16 mile off-road cycle followed by
§ a 17 mile road cycle followed by
§ a 14 mile run followed by
§ a 1 mile kayak
The route also includes 4710m of assent and decent.
THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE EASY!
You can find out more about the event here http://www.scotlandcoasttocoast.com/index.html
I’m doing this because I’m interested to find out if I can. It would be wonderful if in the process I could raise some badly needed funds for Prospect Burma. Many of you have helped me support them in the past and you’ll be aware that there has been significant progress in Burma over the past year. There is still much to do and they will need skilled young people more now than ever before.
My entry fee was £175 and by the time I’ve travelled up there and paid for my accommodation I reckon I’ll have spent about £350 – hence my target. For whatever donation you feel like giving you’ll have the satisfaction of supporting a really worthy charity and you wont even have to run, cycle and paddle 105 miles in a day – that’s my job.
Cheers,
Ewen
