Movember · 1 November 2014

Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.

Story

The Mo men and women:

Al Reynolds, Giles Trelawny, Will Daws, Ben Masters, Ed Jones, Andy Mason, Julian Fawkes, Jamie Brough, Richard Baker, Warren Houghton, Paul Sprake, Tom Brimelow, James Wilson, Graham Bone, Guy Willson, Pete Boddington, Peter Tamblyn, Andy Cox, Richard Porter,Liz Taylor, Sue Edmunds, Janice Krafft.

The incidences of testicular cancer have more than doubled in since the 1970's. The staff at Exeter School are organising 'Movember' within the school in order to raise money and awareness for testicular cancer and male cancers generally.

Men are traditionally too proud and stubborn to talk about health issues, and it is therefore important that we educate the young men to be confident and comfortable to communicate and talk freely about their health.

'Movember' is a worldwide event which began in Australia a number of years ago. We will be growing top lip moustaches for the entirety of November, much to the amusement and disgust of many(!). The female members of staff are keen to get involved too and shall be sporting some fetching stick on mo's for short periods also. Please do sponsor us...it is a fantastic and very relevant cause.
