Story
Sophie Bell, a school pupil and part of the Exning Primary school family, lost her battle with a malignant brain tumour on the 27th December 2012. Last year her family and the school were supported by the East Anglia Children's hospice in Milton. The hospice staff and specialist 'true colours' nurses helped Sophie's family in caring for Sophie towards the end of her life, providing a caring environment in beautiful 'child oriented' surroundings, ensuring Sophie's comfort based on her needs and the needs of the family. The hospice staff have also provided pastoral care for the family and also for the school community- assisting them and advising in how to help the children of the school and Sophie's friends cope with their loss. They continue to provide the family support.
