For the twelfth year in a row I am taking a team of fellow intrepid mountain bikers – staff from First Choice Homes in the main – on a long weekend bike ride to raise money for one of ’s most well known and well respected local charities. Dr Kershaw’s hospice in Royton relies totally on voluntary contributions to provide its services. In 2008 it provided care for two of our staff, who sadly then passed away.
The bike ride this year takes in 90 miles or so of the Pennine cycle way from Tebay in Cumbria down to Hebden Bridge, then we are going to do part of the Mary Townley loop, which is almost entirely an off road bridleway which will bring us a further 20 miles or so to finish at Hollingworth Lake.
