Over £6,000 was raised. The organiser, Loughgeil man Francis “Fred” McIntyre, then left to make his fortune in the deserts of Saudi Arabia .

In 2007, the baton was passed to a few Glenravel lads who came up with the “FROG” (Fun Run Of the Glens). With a view to some fun, thecharity cycle included a evening of entertainment in the local parish hall which was hailed by all as an excellent day and night. In excess of £12,000 was raised, which has set the bar very high for 2008.

In 2008 the crusade continued on a particular windy day with tears coming from grown men. The evening entertainment was as memorable as it was dramatic with everyone toroughly enjoying the day's craic. In excess of £13,000 was raised, which elevates the bar further for 2009.

In 2009 the pace certainly increased on a day which started sunny and ended a little drizzly. The enthusiasm of all participants could not be dampened and we raised over £7,000 for Marie Curie in a particularly challenging economic environment. Well done everyone.

In 2010 seen a turnout of 100 cyclists gathering a total in excess of £8,200 for Marie Curie. Very humbling. Looking forward to 201
