Story

Our hearts and minds are with the families and friends of the victims of the recent fire in Northern Israel. As young Jews we want to support an inspiring youth project in Northern Israel which now needs our help.

Following this national tragedy we ask you to make a donation to help rebuild the modern-day miracle that is the Yemin Orde youth village.

The village is a wonderful home to over five hundred children and youth from immigrant, disadvantaged and at-risk backgrounds. It provides a spark of light and hope into these childrens' lives, and is renowned for its informal educational approach and its wonderful work with the Ethiopian community. It has twice been awarded the Presidential Education Award for its life-changing work.

Right now, the village is uninhabitable, and has lost over twenty buildings - as can be seen in this Youtube clip (#mce_temp_url#). However, we hope to support their wonderful work by easing the suffering of the children and staff, and to show solidarity at this difficult time.

This campaign is currently backed by Birmingham JSoc and FZY. For FZY members, money can either be donated to your Chavura committee, local Netzig, through a cheque to the FZY Offices or directly on-line.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed if you are a UK taxpayer.

With its roots in saving Jewish children in Nazi Germany, today Youth Aliyah Child Rescue cares for abandoned and underprivileged children from around the world in five Youth Villages in Israel.
