Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are supporting Help for Heroes [H4H].

Teams from our school in North Yorkshire, Ampleforth College, competed both in the Airborne Forces' selection race, the 10-mile P Company Challenge, carrying 35lb packs and in boots, and in the 10-mile cross-country race, the Paras' 10, over the same course at Catterick Garrison on 12 September 2010 in support of Help for Heroes.

In supporting H4H, Ampleforth entered a team of Masters, gap-year Aussies and Boys in the P Company Challenge, and also a Ladies' team in the Paras' 10, all supporting through Face-Faw the charity Help for Heroes. The Ampleforth Masters for H4H were Mr.Matthew Torrens-Burton, Mr.Brendan Anglim and Dr.Jonathan Large, the Aussies are Mr.Tom Geikie and Mr.Matt Houlahan and the Boys were James Channer (D), Jo de Klee [E/W], Angus Duncan (T) and Digby Walker [T). Their Training Advisors were Maj.Blackford and RSM Reece.  The Ladies' Team were Miss Nicola Horn, Philippa von de la Rosee [B] and Anna Gould [M]. James Channer won the Alex Fairey Memorial Trophy for the best U19 time, finishing 47th in 1 hour, 29 minutes, 52 seconds.

Help for Heroes [H4H] is a charity that supports our wounded soldiers. Help for Heroes (H4H) was founded in 2007 by Bryn and Emma Parry after visiting Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham.
