Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. 

On May 10th 2011  , I will be setting off on my Farewell  to Mars Cycle Challenge . I will visit 5 FACTORIES , 4 COUNTRIES , 3 HEAD OFFICES  powered by 2 LEGS  on 1 BIKE.
The journey will take me 8 days and I will cover over 700 miles (over 1000 km).
I am doing it for two reasons . The first is that after 32 years at Mars, I thought it would be a great way to say goodbye to the business which I have loved working for and say goodbye to the friends I have made in the places I have worked in .
The second reason is I am raising funds for Anna's Hope , a charity my wife Carole and I set up in memory of my daughter Anna Olivia Hughes who died from a brain tumour in 2006 aged only 3.  You may not know it but Brain Tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and young people and Anna's Hope's aim is to give hope to these children . We are already making a  big difference by funding a Specialist Children's Neuro Oncology Nurse. You can find out more about the charity by visiting the website www.annashope.co.uk.  
Every penny that is raised  goes directly to the charity and if you can make a donation, that would be fantastic.
