Century Cycle Challenge 2011 · 21 May 2011

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our team JustGiving page.

After a few beers in Hallaton it all seemed like a good idea, and people were only too ready to sign up with alcohol giving them a reassuring hand, and now it seems we are doing this. Most definitely the heaviest team to ever ride the Nevill Holt to Brancaster Charity Bike ride over a distance of 102 miles for all 18 riders, with the clock stopping once the last man is over the line. With a combined pre training weight of 295 stone its quite impressive, especially when one third of the team are under 14 stone.

Training has not started as yet as you can see from the photo, as we are soaking up the summer as best we can in anticipation of the forthcoming training schedule, which I know "The Fox" in particular is not looking forward to our only very slightly reduced lack of attendance, for a couple of months anyway.

In all seriousness though this is for a great cause, and the brief few hours(8-9) of pain we are going to go through is nothing compared to what these Children and their families go through, so please give generously.

The Athletes: Paul Murray, Tim smith, Matt Newcombe, Matt Collinge, George Meek, Graeme Ough, Ben Cripps, Tim Gidley Wright, Andrew Hunter, Jolly Ward, James Organ, Simon Tait, Chris Clarke, Matt Oliver, Joff Ward, Tim Strevens, Dylan Bogg, Tom Brucciani.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
