I have chosen to raise money for the Florence Nightingale Hospice in Aylesbury.  The aim of the Hospice is to provide a first class specialist palliative care service which is accessible and free of charge to those with a life-limiting illness, particularly cancer. Hospice care is all about the person being more than a patient and finding ways to improve quality of life through symptom control, pain relief, emotional and spiritual support.

In early 2009 my uncle John spent his last few days under the care of the hospice in his battle against a brain tumour. I would like to recognise the continued hard work of all of the staff and volunteers alike at the Florence Nightingale Hospice, as the care and support they gave was so vital in making his final days comfortable.
