Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The 5 day Salkantay trek passes through some of the highest parts of the Peruvian Andes, crosses over 4600 metres altitude, and descends to the warm cloud forest, ending with a visit to Machu Picchu. We will also be staying at the Project Peru refuge for some of the time that we are in Peru.
Project Peru is truly inspirational. It began as a voluntary initiative with a pile of sand, and now provides food, shelter and support for approximately 40 children and young disadvantaged people from the shanty towns around Lima. The residential refuge provides an environment of care, education and affection and also initiates wider work in the local community.
Project Peru is unique in the fact that all of the money donated clearly goes to benefit the local community, making a huge difference to these children's lives.
I feel very privileged to have grown up in a comfortable, settled environment and am looking forward to giving something back to children who have been less fortunate than I have. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who is supporting Project Peru through the sponsorship of my forthcoming trek.
Please dig deep and donate now!
