I hope to raise a minimum of &pound;200 for 'M&eacute;decins du Monde' (Doctors of the World). I would love for you to sponsor me as I undertake the gruelling task of walking almost 900Km across northern Spain. Trust me, I'm as surprised as you!!<br /> I am taking part in the 'Camino de Santiago' which involves me walking for almost 5 weeks across the Iberian Peninsula at the height of the summer.<span>&nbsp;</span><br /> <br /> Why would I do this you ask?<br /> Firstly, it is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for a good cause. 'M&eacute;dicins du Monde' is a Non-Governmental Organisation which helps those poverty and disaster stricken countries which are in dire straits. It helps both through short-term emergency aid (reconstruction, rehabilitation) and long-term development projects.&nbsp;<br /> Secondly, it&rsquo;s the fulfilment of a dream that I have had since I was a kid; I used to picture myself as the Spanish Indiana Jones. I am at that point in my life where I need to really make some decisions, and therefore this is both a physical endurance test and a chance to meditate, while simultaneously helping those less fortunate. <br /> <br /> I&rsquo;m sure you are jumping at the chance of seeing me in pain; all I ask is for you to dig deep and give what you can afford! At the end of my pilgrimage I will receive &lsquo;La Compostela&rsquo; which is a document that proves my completion of the walk, so there is no getting around it!
