Story

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page! I hope to raise a minimum of £200 for 'Médecins du Monde' (Doctors of the World). I would love for you to sponsor me as I undertake the gruelling task of walking almost 900Km across northern Spain. Trust me, I'm as surprised as you!!
I am taking part in the 'Camino de Santiago' which involves me walking for almost 5 weeks across the Iberian Peninsula at the height of the summer.

Why would I do this you ask?
Firstly, it is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for a good cause. 'Médicins du Monde' is a Non-Governmental Organisation which helps those poverty and disaster stricken countries which are in dire straits. It helps both through short-term emergency aid (reconstruction, rehabilitation) and long-term development projects.
Secondly, it’s the fulfilment of a dream that I have had since I was a kid; I used to picture myself as the Spanish Indiana Jones. I am at that point in my life where I need to really make some decisions, and therefore this is both a physical endurance test and a chance to meditate, while simultaneously helping those less fortunate.

I’m sure you are jumping at the chance of seeing me in pain; all I ask is for you to dig deep and give what you can afford! At the end of my pilgrimage I will receive ‘La Compostela’ which is a document that proves my completion of the walk, so there is no getting around it! If possible I will upload a few videos and photos throughout the walk so you can be there with me.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe and once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I hope you will agree that this is an excellent chance to give to a good cause. Wish me Luck!

Fernando Orosa
