Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the JustGiving page of Fiona Bugler and Chris Roberts. In an era when everyone seems to be pushing the endurance boundaries, we’re only too familiar with fundraising fatigue, so we hope you like our unique idea to match the novelty of the challenge we’ve set ourselves.

We are asking you to donate £2 to either all, or just one of our three chosen charities: Breast Cancer Care, Prostate Cancer UK and the British Heart Foundation. Donate to all three and it equates to the #priceofacoffee.

We have been touched personally by the effects of the diseases that are so commendably supported by each of these charities. And we would like to ask you to support us by spreading the word via social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook – telling everyone you know to stick £2 in the virtual pot.

The Challenge

We're heading to India for one of those bucket list events, running 100 miles over a five-day period, between October 25th to November 1st, across the Himalyas, taking in views of some of the world's highest peaks.

We'll climb 33,000 feet at 11,000 feet altitude. Day one is 24 miles, day two 20, day three takes in The Mount Everest Marathon (which recent runners with GPS have measured as between 28 and 30 miles), day four a mere 13 miles and the final day is 17 miles.

We're told we'll encounter Yaks, wild horses, and red pandas. We won't shower for four days, and bed will be a sleeping bag in a hut with a hole for a toilet!

Fiona will of course blog about it at: www.sherunsshewrites.com and at www.therunningbug.co.uk.
