My story
Thanks for taking the time to take a look at my fundraising page. I'd love you to get behind this great project which is happening in May 2012.
On 5th May I will be cycling 50 miles from Leeds City Centre through to Sheffield City Centre along the length of the Trans Penning Trail.
I'm doing this in order to raise money for the Woodthorpe Action Day on May 12th. We'll be gathering together over 100 volunteers to carry our three projects designed to improve the area for local people.
Project 1 - The Big Clean-up - over 50 volunteers transforming the green spaces, getting rid of litter and all sorts of things that make the place look untidy.
Project 2 - The Big Clear-out - Over 40 volunteers carrying out an excerise to make the local Fishpond an area where local people can come and enjoy some peace and quiet. Clearing out the pond and installing public seating.
Project 3 - The Community Shop - We'll be supporting Woodthorpe Development Trust by helping them to make their new shop garden safe and sound. Woodthorpe Development Trust is a key community organisation delivering services in the Woodthorpe area. It has recently taking occupancy of a community shop which needs some urgent attention to turn it into a place where local people can come and chat, get advice and help and learn to do live well.
Funds will go directly into buying materials for the Woodthorpe Action Day in order to make a real impact on these areas just in time for the summer.
