My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As you may know in April 2010 Lewi and Ben ran the Rotterdam Marathon and with the support of family and friends raised over £4,000 for St Elizabeth’s Hospice. Well, it’s a new year and a new challenge awaits... In September this year Lewi, along with good friend Nick and Nick’s father-in-law Richard, will get on their bikes and cycle their way from Suffolk down to the South of France. The guys plan to complete this journey of approximately 940 miles in just 9 days.
Once again we are asking your for your generous support as we aim to raise over £6,000 for the hospice that cared so well for Lewi’s Dad ‘Mick’ in 2009. The fabulous services that the hospice provides costs £13 a minute, which means we are looking to raise just 0.1% over their yearly cost, but this £6,000 will keep the hospice running for 7 extremely valuable hours. This may not seem a great deal but trust me every penny donated to the hospice is warmly and gratefully appreciated.
Lewi, Nick and Richard have already been training for a couple of months, but now the real hard work begins as the battle to juggle work, family life and many hours of cycling begins in earnest. The guys are very serious about their cycling and just love wearing lycra – so much so that the bikes, equipment and clothing has been paid for by the 3 of them themselves. This means that all money raised from here on in will be donated directly to the hospice.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. If you are signed up with Facebook you can also follow our training and get updates by joining our group at - www.facebook.com/pages/France-Cycle-Challenge/212986035398347
Many thanks for your support
