A big thank you to all those who have already donated. And for those that needed proof ....well check out the photos, or take a look at this weeks (10th Dec) copy of the Herts Ad!
There is still time to donate to a really worthy cause, and every £1 raised really does help those who use Grove House.
Can you really resist these two cheeky little ones, and not give a donation (even a small one) as they take part in the Jingle Bell Jog in aid of Grove House on Sunday 6th December.
Finn & Cam were never lucky enough to meet their Nana, but for those of us who knew Madelene, you know she would have been down at the start / finish line, cheering them on and encouraging everyone to support them.
For a long period of time, every Friday someone would come and collect Madelene from home, drive her to Grove House (and deliver her back at the end of her visit), so she could in essence end the week on a brighter note. And there were many bright notes to end the week for Madelene, for trips out to lunch with friends, to massages and craft sessions, Grove House gave Madelene a few hours away from home in an environment where she could get the support and encouragement she needed and have some fun.
If all of Finn & Cam's family, friends and even friends of family / friends, gave a £1 donation, we'd easily hit our target. And the boys are being realistic about their target, as Christmas is coming.
The boys first fundraiser is not an easy challenge either. To start with it's 2km round the lake. Easy on most days where there is the temptation of feeding ducks or maybe a trip to the Waffle House, but the Jingle Bell jog is a bit different for them.
Finn firstly, he has to get over his aversion to seeing Father Christmas. Maybe it's the beard or maybe it's the red suit, but for a boy who can tell you how good he's been and what he wants for Christmas, he can't tell Father Christmas in person.
Cam may be getting a ride on Mummy's back because he's not quite walking and 2 meters is a long way for him to walk let alone 2km, but he has to fend off Finn for that 2km.
Mummy knows that jogging (like most sports) is dangerous, but not only have she got to keep the two little ones in check, but she has to deal with her mother!!!
Mamo (before you ask it's Gaelic for Grandma), is a World Champion and British Record holder in swimming, has completed marathons, so this should be a walk in the park for her. Or will she get carried away and decide to do more than 2km?!
Please grab your debit / credit card NOW and donate to a worthy charity!!
And Happy Christmas from all of us.
