<div><span style="font-family: Garamond; color: #080000;">I thought I would keep you up to date with my news, as I am leaving my gorgeous children (and husband) this Wednesday to go to Botswana for 10 days. This is not a jolly however, because I am going with a charity called Project Volunteer (<a title="http://www.project-volunteer.com CTRL + Click to follow link" href="mhtml:{B58D1346-2E44-4DC4-BC69-6F295E942813}mid://00000086/!x-usc:http://www.project-volunteer.com/">www.project-volunteer.com</a>) to help the orphans in two SOS Children's Villages, one in Gabarone and the other in Serowe. </span></div>

<div><span style="color: #000000;">Although these children have nothing, they don't think of themselves as poor in our terms, they just haven't got any parents. When I first spoke to the leader of this project, I wasn't sure I had any skills I could bring along; there is little demand for interior design. He simply said "You are a mother". </span></div>

<div>Whilst the children don't need posessions like we have, the ongoing cost of supporting the Project Volunteer house in Serowe is £5,000. We would like to be able to send to SOS this amount every year to ensure that the children have in addition to taking a number of carefully selected gifts.</div>
<div>£10 per week pays for 150 children to have an apple a day which is seen as a luxury. Your donation is truly making a difference.</div>

<p>We have now built our first house and the focus for 2011 year is on raising funds to provide a water well and pump system for the Serowe village at a cost of £15,000. This is vital to help the village grow their own fruit and vegetables, which obviously helps with budgetary control.</p>
