Story
Hi Friends,
After watching the documentary "Tropic of Cancer" on BBC, I was so saddened and distressed by the treatment of the bears that I had to get in touch with the Animal Asia Foundation to see how I could help in some way.

So, next Saturday I will joining others in the "Walk for Freedom" a 5 mile walk in Hmapstead Heath. I know it's not a marathon but it's more about creating awareness and spreading the word about these barbaric and cruel treatments and conditions that these innocent bears have to endure all in the name of crazy alternative medicine in China.
In 2008 there were approximately 4,000 farmed bears in Vietnam!!! Crammed into tiny cages, the bears are repeatedly cut open so that bile for traditional medicines can be extracted from their gall bladders, often leaving agonising and infected wounds.Misa, a Moon Bear was recently rescued from a dark cage where he had been kept for 13 years and 'milked' for his bile. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bile_bear
Misa was receiving emergency treatment after his rescue at the Moon Bear Rescue Centre run by the Animals Asia Foundation in northern Vietnam.
Animals Asia foundation rescued 10 bears recently and they continue to try and bring these bears 'home” and give them the life that they truly deserve.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and it would be amazing if you could support them in any little way you can.
Thanks so much,
Fi
