Story

Fiona, Russ and Chris Moxham are (once again) participating in the Whalebones Walk, to raise greatly needed funds for the Cleveland Search and Rescue Team (now the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team).

The Cleveland Search and Rescue Team are a volunteer group of highly skilled men and women, on call 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. They are called upon by the emergency services to assist lost or injured people in and around the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It costs in excess of £40,000 each year to keep the team running, all of this revenue coming from donations and sponsored events.

The Whalebones Walk takes place annually, and is a 22 mile walk from Whitby back to Marske, crossing the daunting cliffs at Boulby, which mark the highest point on the English coastline at a height of 699 feet. This event is typically relied upon to raise around 25% of the total income needed to keep the team operational, so please give whatever you can afford.

Thank you.
