<p>This year we are doing something like never before!</p>
<p>The key word in the above sentence is <strong><span style="color: #008000;">WE</span></strong>. This year we have decided that as one community we want to do one event all together to raise money for Nexus. Our <span style="color: #008000;">whole community </span>of 74 students and 16 staff members will be cycling to Ampsterdam and back in one week.</p>
<p>The distance we will cover is 771km which is <span style="color: #008000;">1km for every student who has passed through Nexus</span>. For some of you who are reading this that includes you!</p>
<p>Most of us will be cycling and the rest of us will be on the support team (with so many cyclists...there is a lot of support needed to make this work!) but all in all, as one community, together we are putting on this one large scale event.</p>
<p>It has been so clear this year that God is speaking to us about the importance of <span style="color: #008000;">community</span>. For us, Nexus is more than a music school. Among many other things Nexus is a place where we have learned to share life, learning to love and support one another as we pursue God individually and as a community.</p>
<p>One thing that has made this even more special is that Dan and I have decided to do the event together on a Tandem Bicycle. 2 years ago we competed against each other on seperate teams to cycle through towns and cities through the alphabet from A-Z. That was very challenging but we both managed to complete the challenge and learned a lot about endurance. This year we are pushing ourselves further in the extra challenge of doing the event on a tandem.</p>
<p>Nexus is a place that both Dan and I are very passionate about suporting. The money raised this year will go towards the setting up of a Nexus school in South Africa! This has been something which has been on Dave and Kate Silber's heart and we have been planning for years. This year in particular we are seeing some major things shift to make this more of a possibility! I'm excited!!</p>
