Story

Hello - thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

That was the easy bit - now you have to part with some cash.

But it will be worth it .. because I assure you I am going to suffer.

The 80-mile bike ride (the Caledonian Etape - etapecaledonia.co.uk) on 16 May will be hard enough up and down the Scottish hills. My longest training ride to date is 40 miles across flat East Sussex. Result? Painkillers and instant retirement to the sofa for six hours. I have to somehow double this effort on the day - a pre-race litre of Buckfast may be the answer.

But just so you get value for money I'm also chucking in the Byron swim race (http://www.swimtrek.com/special-swims) - a 4.5km (current assisted) swim across the Hellespont from Europe to Asia on 3rd May first done 200 years ago by Lord Byron.

Current reports suggest the water is 14 degrees ie very cold. My wetsuit has holes in it and on my last training session during what I was thought was a superbly executed speedy length of the pool I was passed effortlessly by a child in an adjacent lane.

Oh, and you have one and a half hours to do it in - after that they open up the shipping lane again.

Now if that isn't worth a donation, I don't know what is.

So if you can, please donate - it's a good cause of course.

Many thanks in advance,

Flemmich
