Story

BEAT MENINGITIS, Dont LET MENINGITIS BEAT YOU

We would like to raise money for MENINGITIS UK                      in memory of Zak, hope fully in time for                                     Zaks 3rd Birthday 14/07/11.

On the morning of Thursday 11th June 2009, Shelly Rizvi And Syed Zakariya Rizvi woke up planing on spending the entire day together. They shopped in Trafford Center, Asda and ate in McDonalds (Zaks favorite) This was a rare treat for Shelly, having hardly spent the whole day with her 11 month old son to herself. That very evening Shelly did her normal routine, getting his p.js ready while Zeshan (Zaks daddy) bathed him. Zak went to bed,Shelly went to check on Zak,and found him shivering,he had a fever yet his hands and feet were cold.

Shelly and Zeshan rushed their only child to Trafford General hospital at 9pm that night. 3am,just 6 hours later they sent him home with painkillers. The whole day Friday,Shelly kept ringing the hospital and her doctor with her concerns, every 'medical professional' told her to carry on with the Painkillers.....

5am Saturday morning Shelly couldn't wait any longer and rushed her child to Trafford General Hospital. Given a cubicle, Shelly begged to be seen as she realised there was something wrong with his right eye, she was told: 'We understand your a first time mum,and you have your concerns'....They they waited until Zak had lost his sight in that eye. But it was too late....

From then on, Zaks health deteriorated, at 11.30p.m that evening Zak was taken to Alder Hay hospital in a emergency ambulance.

Straight away he was put on a life support machine. The hospital then did a brain scan and discovered Zak was brain dead.

Shelly and Zeshan were then given the heart wrenching news that their first and only child had 0.01% chance of survival. The 'doctors' then decided to try out one test, which would be carried out twice, this would determine whether Zaks brain would respond to pain.

Zak struggled through Sunday, then Monday 15th June at 6.42p.m Zak passed away in his parents arms.
