Story
I have spent many years watch others do events they thought were impossible and now I thought it was about time to do my bit for charity. I have spent many years respecting people who run a marathon "why would you want to do that?" I say! Well now I'm asking myself the same question. The thing is I'm not just running a marathon.. before that I'm doing a 2.4 mile swim at North beach, Tenby, then I'm cycling 112 miles (2000m of climbing) and finally I'm finishing off with a hilly marathon! I'm always a positive upbeat, 'can do' person but this challenge is scaring me senseless! I have until 14th Sept 2014 and it isn't a case of finishing, there are cut off times for each individual leg. I'm racing others, my mind and finally the clock. Ironman Wales is billed as one of the toughest IM in the World, including by last years winner Lucy Gossage. I certainly haven't picked an 'easy' one to complete. This is going to be my hardest challenge to date, at it's peak the training is 20+ hours a week to fit in around shift work and general life. 2014 is going to be hard, tough year of training but I can't wait to cross that finish line having done something positive and raised money for a fantastic cause.
