Mary’s Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding programmes in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds more than three million children every school day and it costs just £19.15/€22.00 to feed a child for a year.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 4th November 2012, my Mum and I attended Mary's Meals 10th anniversary celebration at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, which included the premiere of Child 31 (a documentary about the children who benefit from Mary's Meals.) It was both sad and inspirational when you realise it only takes £10.70 to feed a child for a year.

Mother Teresa once said "If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." So I have a plan.... I am hoping to raise enough money that will feed a hundred children a mug of porridge every day for a full year. The way I hope to raise funds to do this is by making and selling delicious tablet between now and Christmas. Mum has revealed her secret recipe - I'm up and running!

Mum has also committed to having a few cupcake coffee mornings between now and Christmas. She will be front of house and I will be busy baking and decorating the cakes. Her efforts will be logged on here too.
