Story
Our industry has been raising money for charity for the last 25 years, and there is one person who has managed and driven this, Graeme Chapman. There is a huge amount of effort that goes into organising over 100 participants each year, arranging trained and experienced leaders for each group, and making sure that everyone has a bed when they have finished!! Graeme was himself recently diagnosed with bowel cancer. He had surgery to remove a tumour last month, and is now back on his feet with the all clear.....Yippeeee :) but is still on the road to full recovery.
Many of us will be touched by cancer at sometime in our lives, family, friends, or even ourselves. The ICR is an organisation of 800 scientists who have brought more drugs to trial in the last decade, than any other organisation worldwide. They receive no funding until they have raised £5 million each year, no small task!!
We will this year be leading a group each, the one that Graeme would normally lead and their own group, so double the pressure to get everyone down safely as well as complete the challenge. So we will be on seperate mountains this year!
In the 25 years, over £900k has been raised, and in this , the Silver Jubilee year, we want to smash the £1 million ceiling.
Every penny you donate will go to the ICR, so please do dig deep and give us much as you can. Every £ goes a long way :)
