Some of you will know that in September I will be travelling to Brazil to spend 3 weeks at the University of Life, a primary school in the favelas of Fortaleza, in north east Brazil. Ruth, a friend from my Epsom days, lives and works there (and is married to the founder and director of the school!)

I will be joining 7 others from the UK and together we will be helping with a make-over of one of the classrooms, for which I have been asked to contribute £150 towards materials and supplies.I will also be doing some work with the small house church which has recently been set up with the parents of some of the children.

If I beat my £150 target, then Ruth has given me a long list of games and toys (such as jigaws, skipping ropes, dominoes) which the school needs, and I will buy some of these and take them out with me.
