Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

How it all started!

10 years ago I become a single mum when i had my son, easy pregnancy, easy birth but bad postnatal depression. With help from my family and friends, I soon got this under control.

Setting up home for myself and my son was a new start. Being in total contral of our diet everything was fresh and home made. This and walked for miles with my son in his pram, I noticed a slight change in my weight!

From then on, other people started to comment. Over the next 3 years the weight slowly, but surely, came off. ALL 7 STONE !

I joined a local gym (New Bodys) and with Andys help, I got enough confidene to start jogging. That's when my Mum first planted the seed. I told her I had started to run on the treadmill and her words were " you'll be running the london Marathon before you know it ". So, I got myself a personal trainer (Gary) and started training.

That was 7 years ago, I have tried getting in to the London Marathon through the balot system for 7 Years ! What a joke that was!!

Last year I desided I was NOT getting any younger so I had to run the 2012 London Marathon. I got online and regesterd for a place through Leukaemia CARE. Thanks to them I am now going to achive my goal.

My training is good but very hard. I'm trying my hardest to do as i'm told by Di (Dianne Lee) my personal trainer / freind. She keeps me motivated, Thank you Di!

I ran my longest distance last week, 20 miles, the 1st 10 miles were a dream but as they say, what goes up must come down! (in my case what goes down must come up) the 1st 10 mile were down hill so, its quite obvious really, the last 10 miles were up hill !!!!!! OMG. The recovery was good and this week the slave driver, Di, gave the orders of a 1hour 30 mins run and two 1hour runs, bring it on!

I am now a married woman and have and 11 days till the second biggest day of my life!!! My head shave !! Thank you all for all your love and support so far.

It's 23rd April and I have got no hair ! thank you to everyone that took the time to support me with the sponsored head shave that took place on 19th April.

I have compleated the london Marothon !!! My time was 4hours 48mins. I would have liked 4hours 30mins but never mind. Thank you to my Dad,Mum,sister Roxy,Isabelle, my son Oliver and my new Husband, Ian, for going all the way to London to support me. They waited for 4 hours to see me at mile 25 and i ran straight past them ooops :-(

I have still got a few more hundred £££ to raise so please please please help me reach my fund raising goal of £2000. Thanks to all that have sponsored me so far.........to be continued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
