Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may know, my trip to India was cut short rather dramatically, and I have found myself in Kibera,Nairobi - Africa's largest slum, helping my brother Edmund with his charity Xavier Project. It is certainly not what I expected two months ago. It has been wonderful spending time with Edmund, getting to grips with his work out here.I had heard so much about the Xavier Project in England, so experiencing it first hand is a big breath of fresh air. It has been such a huge eye opener, every day brings something new and exciting, and some very interesting food for thought. It is great to be able to finally meet the Xavier Project team, and see how it is actively helping many Congolese refugees. For those who don't know what the Xavier Project does, in brief, it aims to provide education to Congolese refugee children who have fled to Uganda and Kenya and to offer hope and prospects for their communities. By running the Nairobi half marathon next week (2nd June) I hope to raise money for an extra curricular camp in August, which will give the children a level of education which they don't access otherwise. I am looking forward to the run, and hopefully will get round it in one piece! Thankyou for your continuing support, please dig deep and donate now. For more information visit www.xavierproject.co.uk. If you would prefer to send a cheque, please make it payable to 'Xavier Project' and send it to Francie Page, Meysey Hampton, Cirencester, Gloucestershire,GL7 5LD. Thank you. Francie x
