Coming out, or being outed as LGBTQ+ can lead to young people being made homeless. This is the reality for 77% of the young people akt supports. We proudly offer safe homes and better futures for LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25.

Story

After summoning up the courage to do a few "Trans Can Fight" fitness sessions with the brilliant community group in Brighton, Trans Can Sport, in a moment of madness I've only gone and signed up for an LGBT+ white-collar boxing event to raise funds for the Albert Kennedy Trust.

People, I've clearly totally taken leave of my senses (especially as I've had to go training in a boxing gym on a Friday night instead of going to the pub for 6 weeks) but it's for charity so it's going to be....fine?

It's for a great cause, training has been tough and I'm basically going to get punched in the face for charity, so if that motivates you to dig deep, please be generous! (and wish me luck). 😬💪🥊🥊

About AKT:

Since 1989 we have been helping young homeless and vulnerable LGBT+ people. Even though we celebrate turning 30 in 2019, our services are still very much in demand, we continue to welcome your support in fundraising for us. So whatever event you are taking part in, please also register it at www.akt.org.uk/register-your-event so we can fully engage with you. Many thanks
