Story

Thank you everyone for all your support both financially and otherwise. I completed my challenge on target on Monday 2nd May. It was tough but I was determined to complete the whole ride without getting off and walking!I would never have made it without my 2 companions Cathy and Julia. some 'vital statistics':

Miles Cycled: 325.01

Time Cycling: 35hours 18 minutes

Average Speed: 9.2mph

Max Speed: 31.16mph

If you haven't yet donated please do so as soon as possible.

In the years I have known Isabella I have been inspired by both her and her family's seemingly unrelenting cheerfulness in the face of her rare heart condition. Isabella was born with her heart on the wrong side, two chambers back to front and a hole in the heart. She is a typical 12 year old determined to live life to the full, despite her difficulties, and waiting for her third heart operation.

Her parents tirelessly raise funds for Children's Heart Surgery Fund and for some time I thought to myself "I should do something to help". When I heard about George, yet another child who needed heart surgery, I was finally galvanised into action...

In April I will be riding the Coast to Coast AND Back Again. That's about 300 miles in 6 days. My target is £3000 that's £500 pounds a day! The Children's Heart Surgery Fund is based at Leeds General Infirmary and provides things from vital equipment such a high-tech ultrasound machines which enable medics to see blood vessels clearly during cardiac surgery to parent accomodation so that parents can stay nearby whilst their child is in hospital.

Cathy & Julia have stepped up to the fore to help me along my way. Cathy will be keeping me company East to West whilst Julia will be joining me on my return leg West to East.

Alexis, Isabella & George this is for you!
