Three months ago Gail and I decided that we wanted to raise money for a worthy cause ( we have chosen   The Brain Research Trust – funding world-class research into neurological conditions ) by undertaking a ' new' sporting challenge . This lead us to learn to X-Country Ski .To do this we engaged the services of Iain Ballentine the founder of Roller Ski UK who has given us the confidence , and sufficient technical skill to make us believe that we can complete the Engadin Ski Marathon Engadin Skimarathon which takes place on the 14 March 2010 .

As well as roller ski training at our local bicycle track ( when the bikers would  let us .....! ) we have also used an indoor ski machine , and done plenty of power walking . On the 13 February we put our ' off snow' training  to the test , and went to Norway to experience the 'real thing' . We had 4 days of one-on-one tuition , and we are looking forward to the big day .

For the technically minded , Gail will ski Classic style , and Fraser Skating style . ( think Biathlon - without the gun ...! )

Please give your support to a worthy cause .

Thank you

Gail and Fraser

The brain is the most complex organ in our body. It controls our emotions, senses and actions. So when it breaks down, we break down. We fund the best research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of those affected. Let’s unite to accelerate progress. Today.
