Story

The inaugural Fraser Brown 3 Peak Challenge will be taking place on Saturday 21st August to raise much needed funds for Macmillan.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. One in three of us will get cancer, we are all affected by cancer but fortunately we can all help.

As treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. This means they need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support.

Macmillan is a source of support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need. It's not only patients who live with cancer, so Macmillan also helps carers, families and communities| .

The aim of the 3 Peaks Challenge is to conquer the peaks of Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Mount Snowdon (1085m) within a 24 hour period. I have agreed to take this challenge as a close friend of mine was recently diagnosed with cancer and Macmillan has been there with them from day one.

We are asking you for your support. If you are in a position to do so, please dig deep and sponsor me and my team members for this worthwhile cause.

Any donations no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated and help us reach far more than just 3 peaks!

Details about the challenge

Team Fraser Brown will be starting with Ben Nevis at 6am on Saturday 21st August 2010. From here we face approximately five hours of climbing and descent followed by a five hours and fifty minute drive (264 miles) to Scafell Pike. Scafell Pike presents a further four hour hike followed by a four hours and fifteen minute drive (209 miles) to Mount Snowdon. Here we face the final challenge of a three and a half hour hike with the aim of completing our descent by 6am Sunday 22nd August.
