Participants: Freddie Graham-Campbell

3 peaks · 2 August 2010

Provide search dogs for the police and MOUNTAIN RESCUE TEAMS throughout Scotland. Dog handlers are all volunteers and use trained dogs to search for vulnerable and missing people, including children and the elderly. Money donated is used to pay for equipment, insurance and training.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Some friends contacted us because they were planning on climbing the 3 peaks (Ben Nevis - 1343m, Scafell Pike - 978m and Snowdon - 1085m) in August. They were hoping to use us as a B & B and a place to dump their dogs but didn't plan on getting an extra body on their trip! It sounded like great fun and a real challenge, an opportunity definitely not to be missed. So I thought that it would be a good idea to raise some money for charity at the same time.

The charity that I have chosen is the Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) Southern Scotland. It is a non profit making, voluntary organisation to help the Police and Mountain Rescue Teams search for missing people. It depends on the support of the public.

I wanted to support a local charity so that I could see where the money was going and hopefully I will get to be a "body" on one of their training sessions. This appeals a lot more than a larger charity and is very relevant to what I am doing.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
