Story
I'm not a runner.
I'm more of the eater, drinker, cake type.
When I was a street fundraiser I worked for CLIC Sargent and it is an amazing charity. They care for children and young people and their families affected by cancer and leukaemia. I met a lot people working for the charity and those who were using the amazing and vital services provided by CLIC during this time and these people will make me finish this marathon.
Here is their website http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/Home
I was meant to run a half marathon for them in 2007, but couldn't.
So here we are with knee tendinitis, groin ache and chronic bouts of lazy tension and I'm training for a marathon. I'm not looking for your sympathy, just your money. I have paid £40 for the pleasure of running this marathon so 100% of donations go to CLIC I've heard marathons are pretty hard:
Marathon Synonyms: epic, lengthy, long-winded, long-drawn-out. So dig deep.
For those who can't afford £100,£50,£20,£10,£5 (NOTE: £5 is the less than a travel card or a double shot vanilla latte) here's an idea;
Sponser me a song:
Pick a song you like. find out how long the song is and donate the number of minutes to me. Tell me the song and I will download and listen to it while running the marathon. That amount of time will be dedicated to you an your song during my lap around Edinburgh.
e.g. Freddie Pite chose Iron maiden: Hallowed be thy name 7:14 minutes long. He donated £7.14 and I will listen to this song thinking of him.
Thanks.
p.s. while writing this I pulled a muscle in my hip, I now going to fetch my ice pack.
