VOLCANO: The trek has been postponed, it will be rescheduled, it will go ahead but at this time we don't know when it will be. As soon as I have anymore information I will let you know. Freya x

Hello hello and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

From April 17th-26th 2010 I will be taking part in Girls Get Tough Hike the Himalayas on behalf of the amazing charity Wellbeing of Women (WOW) www.wellbeingofwomen.org.uk.

You may not know about WOW but they will have already improved your life or the life of someone you love. Since 1964 WOW has benefited the lives of all women living in the UK. They are the only UK charity that is dedicated to solving the health problems that solely affect women.

Here are just a few things to think about:

·         Half of all women in the UK still experience a reproductive health problem during their lifetime!

·         Over one fifth of all pregnancies end in miscarriage!

·         10 million women are affected by intensely painful period problems each year!

·         17,000 women are diagnosed with gynaecological cancer each year!

These are not just figures, these are families, these are friends, sisters, wives and mothers.

WOW raises money to fund essential medical research and train specialist medical staff to help us overcome these problems. WOW has raised £27 million over the last 40 years.

But they need our help to continue doing the crucial and remarkable work that they do.

So...I am trekking up to 3500m in the Himalayas next April to raise awareness and funds for this wonderful charity. I need to raise £3,200 by February 5 2010. Please, please sponsor me! Please give what you can to make a difference to the lives of all women living in the UK today.

Thank you all so much for your support and your generosity,

Freya
